Memorial Coliseum LayoutOctober 10, 1976Ron Lee Night In Eugene It was Ron Lee Day in Eugene on October 10, 1976. In a ceremony slated thirty minutes before the scheduled tip-off between the Blazers and Suns, an athletic scholarship was announced in his name, his number 30 was retired and a large portrait was presented to him among other gifts to the 1976 Pac-8 Player of the Year. A congratulatory telegram from President Ford was also read.
Lee was the 10th player selected in the NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns this past summer. Lee is the leading scorer in Oregon Duck history. |

Petrie, above with Harry Glickman, was the Blazers 1st pick in the 1970 Draft. He was Co-Rookie Of The Year with Dave Cowens after the 1970/71 season when he averaged 24.8 points and joined Oscar Robertson as the only two guards to score over 2,000 points during their rookie seasons
